Semi Finals

Walla walla walla!
This time for Africa!

Here we go!

CAPE TOWN GREEN POINT STADIUM

The World Cup is to end in just a few days. This time i want to tell football fans that the World cup was new. We should not think the way old people do. We are in a age of competition. In the new world those win who compete well not those who use their names to win. I want to inform you that we should not say that there were many upsets in this world cup. That would be wrong. Those teams won who deserved to win. Thats the quality of football. I believe that " TEAMS WITH GOOD PLAYERS WIN, NOT TEAMS WITH FAMOUS PLAYERS". I hope you got my point.

Today the Semi-final is between NED and URU. The match will be fast and tight. Both the teams are good with the ball. NED has a plus point of controlling the ball well. They are quick with the ball. And one most important thing that help them is they when lost the ball come quickly behind the ball, this creats problems for the oponents in their counter attack.

Germany Vs Austrelia

Wala what a match. Now we are talking. Last match was the match which gave us the feeling that we are watching some world cup team playing. The Germans were in great form and made the world cup thrilling. This match will add some action to the world cup. Now teams will try to score goals. Teams were doing their best but after Germans now teams will try more to play fast and aggressive like them. 4-o does not means that Australia was a bad team. But the Germans made it seem so easy, like they were playing a friendly match with a non world cup team.

I hope if Michael Ballack was in the team one goal would be additional of Ballack. But Germany did not let any one feel the lack of Ballack. Australia was under pressure. They took first goal as a goal of death. That was their biggest mistake. The defense went weak. Germany penetrated in their defense making them weak. One main reason was an early goal. Teams that score early put a pressure on their opponents. In the past we have seen that small teams if score early lock their victory. The experienced players can even some times not handle the pressure of early goal.

11 June

The opening match was very good. It was thrilling and full of action. The opening goal was scored by the home team South Africa by midfielder Tshabalala. The crowed went crazy. After words the match was in control but Africans could not defeat the opening goal for long Mexico scored and level the game. The Africans came under pressure and left the field open for Rafael Marquez. South Africa let the Mexican open the field and took full advantage.

The second Match was between France and Uruguay. It was a match which had little opportunities and they were not utilized properly. France could not change the history to beat Uruguay in the tournament. It was a draw too with no scores.

FIFA kick-off concert

Last night was a great night. FIFA 2010 kick-off concert was held in South Africa, Soweto. The night was huge and big. Both theme songs of soccer were sung by Knnan and Shakira. The crowed was going crazy. All this was broad caste live. The event was emotional and had a lot of messages. well today is the day we all were waiting for. And we are few hours away from the event to start.

Where we all are happy there is one sad news too. And that is the death of Nelson Mandela's grand daughter. Zenani Mandela was 13, and was present at the concert last night. But who knew it would be her last concert. On her way back from the concert, a car crash took place in which she died. She got 13 on her birthday 9th June. Today Nelson Mandela was to join the opening match. But after this news we have to wait and see what happens.

Well lets move forward. And here we go OLY OLY OLY.

6 Days to go

The count down begins from today... We are so close to the World Cup. Put up your shoes and arrange your time table. In the first round we will have three matches daily. Six teams will meet each other every day. I know all around the world FIFA world cup is the major topic under discussion. According to a survey almost 1.3 Billion people talk about football daily. And i am sure this will increase as we go closer and closer to the action. And after the action starts football will be every where.

Well as the warm up matches are being played and as we are reaching closer to the world cup a number of players are being injured and missing the opportunity to play in the world cup. Its not a good thing for soccer but its a part of game.

Drogba broke his right arm in a warm up match at Friday against Japan. This is a great loss for Ivory Coast. They lost their star and a captain. England captain Ferdinand done after getting injured in his left knee during practice hours before Drogba was hurt. Italy player Pirlo is resting at home in Milan with a serious injury that can also make him out of the world cup. Brazil goal keeper Julio missed the practice session as he could not recover a back injury.

Well all we can do is to hope the event may not lost more players. The event is joyfull with these legends. Football fans should not worry because its a part of game we cant keep them off the field. And in the field any thing can happen like injuries. All i can say is best of luck to all players in future.

WHAT DOES EVERYONE DO?

The stars of any football match are the players. However, there are many other people involved whose presence is important in succeeding a match.
Some of these people are listed below.

The manager
A manager is the person who is player boss and his job is to create a wining team. He plans trainings, tactics and motivates the player before the match. Almost all managers will have been players themselves, although the best player do not necessarily make the best player.

The coach
The coach i the person who runs training programme. He keeps an eye on player fitness and works closely with manager to decide which aspects of the game the team needs to work on.

The physiotherapist
During a game the physiotherapist has to be ready to run on to the pitch at any time to attend to injured players. Its his/her job to ensure that the player is fit enough to play in a match.

Preparing the kit
The person who organizes the teams's kit has to make sure that each player has a full personalized kit, including clean shirts, socks and boots for daily training sessions to real games.

The ground stuff
Maintenance of the pitch is essential and a team of people are responsible for keeping weeds at bay and limiting the damage caused by the environment and matches.

FOOTBALL NOW AND THEN

If you were to travel back in time and stumble upon a football match in the 1890,things would not be that unfamiliar. The essence of the game has remained same. However, changing fashions and the availability of new materials have transformed the basic kit,and huge sums of money have been invested in research to produce the most skill-enhancing balls and boots.

BOOTS
Late in the 1800s, before football boots were widely available, some players use their working boots.Today's boots are sleek and colourful compared to the early heavy leather ankle length boots.

TICKET PRICES
A ticket price for early matches were not too much and was costs around one shilling. Now it is very expensive and costs from pound 45 to pound 450.

FOOTBALLS
The first footballs were animals bladders encased in leather. They were laced together with hands and often lost shape while playing. they also becomes very wet during rainy days and knocks off players when they attempt to head the ball.Modern footballs are made from a variety of materials and are coated in plastic to prevent water retention. How to be a good soccer player

Any one who has the speed and desire to do something can be the best soccer player. Soccer is the game of speed and stamina. These two things are the most important for being a good soccer player. These two things can be developed by developing your own body. This means that you must take good care of yourself both on and off the soccer field. You should eat right and healthy foods and stay in shape. You need to not just play soccer but also be involved training such as physical endurance, weight lifting and jogging etc. You must have the capacity to run and keep up with your team while the game is going on and in order to do this you must be in the best physical status.

Running and stretching is also important. This makes the body flexible and prevents injuries too. Doing this can make a player to run a mile very easily. Not only physical fitness is important but also mental fitness. A player should have a high temperament. One should have a great sportsman spirit.

Soccer is not only the game of skill and tactics but a game of race and will. You need to play heard. And the the further along you come in your soccer career the less substitution occur in the game. It means more run and more responsibility. So in order to become a better player you need to practice and play all the year around. Like they say practice makes a man perfect.

How Soccer Started

Have you ever wonder how soccer football games get into our life? When and where is the origin of this game?

There are many formulations on how and when was the real beginning and origin of the game. As a game soccer was played in 19th century in England. But some say that football was played way more back, this can be true because a lot of games are modified from their original forms to the advanced and modern ones.

Well the history of soccer goes back into the 1800's in Manchester, England. A group of people had seen the sport rugby. Rugby was before soccer but a group of people changed the concept and used to play with the ball just with their foot. This group started the sport, hired a commissioner and named it football. The reason named is due to the part used to play this game. The first formal match was in 1834 between two small league England teams. This group grew and made the sport move across continents. They named their organization FIFA Federal International Football Association.

The History of modern-day soccer was established in 1863. Two teams of England were to play a match, eleven a side. The main out come of this meeting was to redefine the new rules and boundaries. From here started a new soccer era. FIFA was established in 1904 and different countries and nations started to gather to adopt the sports and enjoy the full game.

England working out on Penalties

Today Gareth Southgate said that regularly practicing penalty shoot outs will be key to England chances of success at the coming World Cup in South Africa.

England has many times sent out crashing due to miss in penalty shoot outs. In other words we can say that England have a poor record in penalty shoot outs. World cups in 1990, 1998, 2006 and European championships in 1996, 2004 all saw them going home after losing their nerve from the spot.

Southgate, who won 57 caps and represented England at two World Cups, warned that even the squad's most accomplished penalty takers would find it hard to blank out the pressure. Fabio Capello will have his strategy and will know who his best penalty takers are. But it does not guarantee anything. Sometimes guys miss when you really expect them to score. Nothing can prepare you for the pressure. For example we saw Frank Lampard miss one in the FA Cup Final, yet he is a consistent penalty taker. There is always that element that something like that can happen in any shoot out.

But there is a believe that like any skill the more you practice it can make you so comfortable with things that you can handle things normally under pressure. And again there can come a situation where England might need a penalty score to live in the game. Southgate has backed the 22 year old to be named in England's final 23 man squad. He added " Adam is a very exciting player. He had an unbelievable rise this year and I would be very tempted to take him as he is a different type of player to the other ones we have. He had a marvelous season, and whatever happens he had made his mark. If he makes it, it's a huge bonus. "

Michael Essien is out of the World Cup 2010

The Chelsea midfielder is suffering from injury and he cannot be recovered till the end of July.

The GFA said that the decision was taken after a joint evaluation of his fitness by them and his club.

HIS LAST PERFORMANCE FOR AFRICA CUP WAS SATISFACTORY.

He GETS injury at that time and has not played for either Ghana or Chelsea.

Michale Essien has been keen to play down speculation about his chances of making the World Cup.

Inter Milan wins after 45 years

Here we go! Inter Milan repeated the history after long 45 years. It seems that Inter Milan fans went old enough to watch the glory again in the Champions League. Champions League Final was between the Champions of Germany and Italian winners Inter Milan on Saturday. Bayern Munich were looking for the fifth time success, which they failed this time.

Inter Milan forward Diego Milito scored two goals to lead his club to a stunning victory of 2 - 0 over Bayern Munich at Madrid's Santiago stadium. It is Inter's first victory since winning consecutive titles in 1964 and 1965. The teams had met four times previously. But this time Bayern were not able to catch the Milan's. Although they had better possession they were unable to open the score. Bayern initially looked more likely to force a breakthrough but their opponents used the ball in a better way. They completed their moves better than Bayern which made them win and lift the trophy.

Milito was very happy and said that " it was a unique feeling to score the goals that made us champions after 45 years. I dont think I have ever felt such a joy. I am thirty and I had to wait a long time to win a trophy like this but this is football and football always gives you chance to make amends. I thank Mourinho and the president for bringing me here last summer. This night was just fantastic. We won three trophies, next season we want more.

Steven Gerrard hunt for win

Liverpool fans need to worry. It seems that Steven Gerrarad could leave the home club and start huntig for his win for trophies. Steven Gerrarad has been a Liverpool player for more than 11 years, making more than 400 appearances for the club that he almost led to Barclays Premier League glory a year ago. But the relationship of Gerrard and Rafa seems that Gerrard is not happy with Rafa Benitez. He wants the team with a new manager. But the situation seems to go other way. Rafa is set to stay with Liverpool. Now Liverpool fans have to see Gerrard leaving the club. Because this summer Steven Gerrard will be looking to other options. Possible destinations could be Manchester City and Chelsea, offering almost 30M euros. This can make Steven Gerrard play in Champions League and in European games. Jose Mourinho (Inter Milan Manager) is considered a fan of Gerrard, so it seems that Liverpool man could find himself in Inter Milan or Madrid depending where the manager ends up himself.

Liverpool finished the English Premier League at seventh position. This leads the club with limited resources. The club could not earn much money and the damage is that they have low budgets for training programs. Moreover this leads to make Gerrard think that it would be almost impossible to get in the title races with other teams. So if Gerrard got good offers he might leave Liverpool to have a glory of wins.

SO YOU WANT TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL

There is a little doubt that being a top professional footballers has many rewards. Those who dream of one day scoring the winning goal in a world cup final should be warned: as only very, very few player make it to the top and they have to work extremley hard to get there.
Here are some simple step to sucess

STEP 1 JOIN UP

If you dont go out to a pitch to play game then forget about being a footballer. So, first thing comes first and join a team. For most young players this will be either a school team or a youth club that plays in a local league.

STEP 2 BEING SPOTTED:

A mixture of natural talent and practise will help you being spotted by professional club scout.Almost every club has a scouting system and they are looking for established player that team might want to buy, but other are intrested in outstanding players. All you have to show potential and stamina.

STEP 3 A TRIAL:

Once spotted by a club scout , you will be invited for a trial. furthermore, they will check following important things,

  • how well you perform with a ball
  • your health.
  • fitness.
  • attitudes.
  • personal needs.

STEP 4 SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE:

This is where the selected player are trained. However there are no guarntee of future success and many young players either drop or asked to leave if they cannot cope with demands. But if you can rise up through the youth, reserve, and nursery teams may be your dream of becoming a footballer will comes true.

Chelsea Wins The FA Cup and looses Ballack

Didier Drogba delivers double glory for Chelsea. Drogba's out standing performance in the final of
FA cup against Portsmouth made Chelsea the seventh side to win the English double. The match
was won by 1-0 at Wembley. Petr Cech saved Kevin Prince fifty sixth minute penalty. Drogba
then put Chelsea in front soon after and the opponents could not force a way back into the
contest.

This win was not a happy win at all. Michael Ballack will miss the next month's FIFA World Cup. The reason after a scan in Munich revealed the Germany captain damaged ankle ligaments during the Chelsea FA cup final win. His right ankle was damaged during the final match against Portsmouth.
Ballack was to represent Germany as a captain in 2010 World Cup. He is a great legend in the football world, scoring 42 goals in 98 appearances for his country. A challenge by Portsmouth player, Kevin Prince led to the following situation in the 44th minute.

Ballack Said " its a huge disappointment, it hurts to get a diagnosis like that two or three weeks before the world cup. But that's football we have to move on."

Germany Coach Joachim Low added " i was shocked at first, but now others have to take more responsibility. It is a big loss, Michael is a world class player and our Captain."

We Are Legends
